Eesti Raamat 500

Eesti raamatu 500. sünnipäeva auks tikime piltvaiba eesti raamatu ajaloost. Selle piltvaiba kogupikkus on ligi 17 meetrit ning igale maakonnale on mõeldud umbes meetri jagu tikandit. Eesti kogukondade vahel USAs jagame piltvaipa, mis on 3-4 meetrit pikk. 

Hetkel on piltvaip New Yorgis, seejärel saadetakse Lakewoodi novembris, siis Washington DC/ Marylandi detsembris ja Chicagosse jaanuaris. 

Tikandi pildid on kangale ette trükitud, mis teeb tikkimise hõlpsamaks ning üldmulje ühtlasemaks. Valgele osale võite tikkida ka oma nime või mingi ornamendi, isegi lihtsa lille. Ka lapsed saavad osaleda.

In honor of the 500th anniversary of the Estonian book, we are embroidering a tapestry about the history of the Estonian book. The total length of this tapestry is nearly 17 meters, and each county is allocated about a meter of embroidery. We have in the US a tapestry, which is 3-4 meters long, and it will be shared among Estonian communities in the USA. The tapestry is currently in New York, then it will be sent to Lakewood in November, then to Washington DC/Maryland in December, and to Chicago in January. 

The embroidery images are pre-printed on the fabric, which makes the embroidery easier and the overall impression more uniform. You can also embroider your name or some ornament, even a simple flower, on the white part. Children can also participate.
